About Momma Trauma
Momma Trauma is a momma of three beautiful surprises, wife to a hardworking husband and pet-momma to a slew of four-legged friends.
I grew up to become a journalist in our hometown and now work in public relations. I am a children's book author with several books available for purchase (see more about that journey here). As you can tell, I am passionate about telling stories. But then, life stopped for a short time for me when I had to deal with my own birth trauma. The birth of our second child spun me into the world of birth trauma and PTSD. I came to realize that there really wasn't much help out there for birth trauma families and certainly nothing we can tap into legally here in the United States. It seemed like I couldn't talk to just anyone about what was going on with me and I knew that was the case for a lot of other women and families, too. I felt like my voice, or my story, had been taken away. I had a good cry and a lot of panic attacks and decided to open up this space as a space of healing for not just myself, but for others, too. Moms, dads, partners, birth professionals - we can all learn from each other. I took a few years off from developing this space to give myself some fresh air. But I recently realized that nothing filled the void left in our absence. So, to that I say - Let's do this! |
